While most of you are fighting the black masses of people on the Friday after Turkey Day, I attended a clinic today (no Turkey Day here). Was good, one of our local suppliers put on a clinic about hoof repair, bringing out all the different products. To start off with we had a great spread for breakfast. Along with this, he also had a couple guys who are personal trainers to talk to us about streching exercises to help with our backs, shoulders and arms. After a break we had a presentation on hoof cracks, different positions, repairs and products. Next was a lunch, all the stops were pulled out for this. After lunch repairing of different types of cracks was demonstrated. This was also the first time I have seen hoof casting material used. Was a great day. And the best part was it was free. You all have a great weekend.
No pics, but he was talking about the need to cut the top of the cast material at the back of the bulbs so a mushroom effect wouldn't happen.
