In case anyone noticed that the total# of members shrunk over the past week it is because there was alot of signed up members ( around 35 ) that provided email addresses and wording in their info bio that would direct anyone that clicked onto them to sites not related to farriery, hoof care etc. (mostly viagra, real estate or fashion. If in deleting these members we deleted some hoof care providers please accept my apology now and resubmit your info.

    Hi Ray,
I've been a member from the start and have selected "watch Threads" on several topics but the last several months I haven't been getting any notifications. I now have to go to this site manually find the topics I was following. Obviously something has change. Can you tell me how to get this feature working again?

    Thanks in advance!

When you select the "Watch Thread" button you have to choose to receive eMail notifications (The default is NOT to receive eMail notifications). I'm not sure what happens if you don't choose to receive eMail notifications, but pretty good chance you won't get emails when somebody posts in a thread you're watching without the eMail option checked.

They're making it to spam. Andre needs to contact the host and they'll set it up so emails make it to inboxes again.

@Tom and Andre; Last spring when initially set up, I checked all the appropriate boxes, etc. and all worked well and received all my email notifications, but that feature has ceased to work since last summer on most threads I follow, including this newer thread. Some will show up in the alert column after logging in, but no email notifications. Nothing is going to spam, I even reset the notifications, re-check the appropriate boxes, cleared cache, etc to no avail. I did get one new "everyday shoeing" notification today, the first in months. No notifications have been received from this thread even though it is watched. Weird....

I rcd. an email from a member who attempted to log in but was told electronically that he was banned, Andre has informed me that it is possible that the automatic spam blocker kicked his membership. Since we have not "banned" anyone, intentionly, since i don t know how to do it, the automatic becomes the one to blame
If anyone runs into this problem or hears of someone having the problem to contact me(ray@bestbuyhorseshoes.com) or just re up

Andre let me know that over the past few days this site is again being bombarded by spammers, something like 1 a minute, the spam filters seem to be working but about 8 new members ,who were actually spammers got listed as members and have been deleted.

Ray what is wrong with spam? I respectfully ask if you have ever tried it? It is good on wheat or rye......Throw some horseradish on there and you will be amazed.......I think?

I ve been removing 2 to 10 spammers per day, somehow they are getting thru the spam filters, Andre suggested that after someone signs up they are allowed membership by a moderator/administrator reviewing, we are going to try it and if it s not to much of a hassle it will become policy. I ll not ask David to be burdened this till we try it out,

    any other suggestions?
