I assume you mean on the hinds? I don't do any reiners but what about longer heels on the inside and don't grind off the inside nail heads.
I don't know y this Is stumping me but wouldn't a longer heal on the inside give it more sliding service and let the inside of the foot slide more making it spread more ?
I guess I was thinking it would act as a trailer. Also it would be more surface area for the dirt to " grab". You could also cut a crease in the inside heel for dirt to pack into. Dirt to dirt contact = traction.
I was wondering width should have said that. Some will stop better with 1 inch versus 1 1/4. I have never tried it but wonder if a little crease on the inside might work as well give a little more drag.
You can rotate the toe of the shoe more to the inside which will give you a longer medial branch and broader medial toe, you can leave the medial side of the hoof a little longer, I've turned the toe inside and had a bunch of shoe hanging over and used some Superfast or Adhere and nailed up to that on inside for first two nail holes. You can turn the medial heel in more and create a little more drag and keep your lateral branch straighter for less drag. You can spoon the outside heel, or like already mentioned crease it, narrow it or rudder the inside. Set more shoe medial toe. Cody Gilreath, CF
From what I understand from Jim Poor shortening the medial branch causes the lateral toe to come out of the ground and spread more. Cody has some good ideas there Sent from my DROID RAZR using Tapatalk 2
