A barrel racer asked me this, "I heard Rims destroy the horses joints. Specifically rims on the back feet are bad for hocks." is this true or? I can't find anything about it in the books or anything
Its not the appliance that destroys joints but the horse's job, frequency of use, conformation, and a myriad of other factors that destroys not just the horse's joints, but the horse in general.
Watch them run, most set up and slide to a barrel then turn. A few run around the barrel. The first kind IMO are better off with plains in back, the second kind with rims.
