Hi Everyone, You might like this film I just made on your profession . View: https://vimeo.com/69039838 "Father and son team Tom and Cody Driscoll keep the profession of farriers alive in their family with the art now spanning four generations" Cheers Dean
Dean I really enjoyed your short. Both my daughters apprenticed with me although neither shoes today. Have you considered doing a longer version? Bet it would air on one of the cable channels.
Great short. Great photography. I taught my six sons the trade, one is shoeing out on his own. My sixteen year old Jess, upon our return from a two day shoeing trip Saturday night, was asked by his Mother, a bit sarcastically; "What was the best part of the trip?". He replied; "Reading War and Peace". That's his summer literature project, so at least we know now that there's something worse for a teenager than have to read some old, thick book.
Allie attended Maine Maritime Academy and is a tugboat officer. Nikki is one of the leading artists in LA right now. They both enjoyed helping dad in HS and college but earn a lot more than I do now LOL.
