I had to apologize to the very first horse this morning, Saddlebred gelding still wearing shoes I nailed on for the Labor day show last year; 9 mo ago. I said to him in the cross ties, "I'm sorry, If only I hadn't clipped those shoes, if only the nails had been able to rust off, if only I hadn't fit your shoes/pads so full, if only your owner wasn't such a dumb @ss..." He thought I was so funny, he gave me a $25 tip but wouldn't reschedule.....
just think Brian, if we had bout a week of warm humid weather before you god to him, you could of had a years supply of maggots to go fishing along with that tip, ray
Same every were ide think.People are making the disishon wether to feed them and hope things get better or sell them knowing there future is grim. Thanks to some well meaning fokes over hear poor cripled and sic old horses that would be better off not suffering are compeating with young and healthy stock. As a result thousends are now hungry and neglected.
They pulled this one out for us today we were just aboutto pull the fronts off o no just the hinds dressed he ok in front he is 4 months done
Do you make the client pay ekstra when they are so overdue for a shoeing ? to make them go 7 months between a trim... I would have been angry!....
I find charging extra is often a good way to rid myself of a client I don't want. It allows me to get rid of them without insulting them. My other best mechanism to lose the twice a year folks is "geez man, I thought you must have sold them so I gave your spot away". Regards
