So I found this anvil, 200 lb continental pattern, looks real good (looks like it's never been used) but the guy is asking $500 for it. Retail is $1090.00
I know there's a huge difference between retail and resale value and the norm (around here) is $1.50/lb. The question is, is this anvil worth buying? I've never seen it in person and I don't know anyone with this brand anvil around me so, I'm looking for opinions on it.
    Thanks
    David

After you find out if it's stolen or not; offer him $450 cash

Well, stolen or not, he sure moved it like it was hot. I found it the day he posted it for sale but, I debated because I thought it was a little high. However, I don't see a whole lot of 200 lb anvils for sale within driving distance of me so, I called the next day and it was already sold. Guess that's what I get for draggin' my feet.
