Has anyone used or heard bout the new rolled processed nails that Victory is introducing? I understand that they are available in 3 , 3.5 and 4.5 race, 5 slim. Regards Ray Steele
always looking for a quality nail not made and or controlled by the conglomerate, i ordered in a few cases of them, i'll post what i think of them ,for what it's worth in a day or two. i've seen some other nails made on these machines and they were very nice. ray

Just unloaded 30 cases of the Victory nails , I have to say that they are a nice, clean nail and feel and bend good. I'll try to get some pics up. To me the Victory 5 sb is longer than the Capewell 5sb of the last 15 years,more like the Delta and original Capewell. In the pics I'll put up an old Capewell 5sb for comparison. Hopefully these will knock some of the wind out of the Mustard groups sails, and provide some competition in the market, don't know if the e heads are in the future. Quality and price will decide, I think these might have both ! I have some sample packs that I'll include in orders that I ship out . Regards Ray Steele
Ray I picked up a box of the 4 1/2 RN at a clinic and your right they were slick to the touch and I had no problem nailing them up. I normally use Mustad in this size.
I some times use the 5 slim in larger size plates they do drive well high and you get a nice plastic box when you done
Steve, by my calculations and comparing other price lists these Victorys are less money than Mustards, and they are rolled vs swedged, which is usually preferable in the States. I just tried packing a USPS medium priority box, 16 /250 boxes fit easily, meaning a case of nails can be shipped and insured for $15.00 anywhere in USA, with some room to spare. Basically 4000 nails delivered and insured for $285.00. Ray
Today I drove the 5 sb and 4.5 race Victory nails, they are pretty nice, maybe a little softer than the Capewells,I thought that wringing them off but could not feel it nipping pre clench. Tomorrow I'll try alternating one of each to get a better feel. The real answer will be in 6 weeks , as to if they held up. Ray Steele Horseshoes Unlimited 413 863 2443
sold the 1st box of Victory 5 sb nails today,it reminded me that i said i would post a pic of the old Capewell,newer version Capewell,Delta and the Victory. i forgot to put in a Cooper. next time. the Victory are the same length as the old Capewell. these Victory appear to me to be straighter and slimmer than both the Delta and Capewells. ray horseshoes unlimited 413 863 2443
In the " farrier industry thread" someone commented about the Victory nail along the lines of that they fit after the 3rd reset or words similar, What is meant by that and thoughts about the Save Edge 5ch, and 5 SB ,conventional and pound edge nails. Thanks Ray
Do they have a big head Ray? We used to use Maddox nails because they were slim with a big head, used to be able to nail concave on a few more times after the holes had enlarged a bit in the gas fire or with wear. Concave in the uk has got very square in the bottom.
David, Not sure what was meant, as posted in the picture in reply #10 of this thread ,while taken to show length heads appear similar, i ve driven them but had not noticed a difference that would make me comment. perhaps i just was not paying attention,but having read the comments i thought i d ask. If I remember correctly, the Maddox are/were March, renamed, the Derby and I believe Carrona were Delta s renamed or was that Delta being Derby renamed/boxed! ray
