found this mess under the hair last week. I burned the hair away (no knife or scissors handy) I washed the dried blood and puss off and couldn't find either puncture or tread on wound. Horse was terribly sensitive on it either.
Could be a quitter, infected lateral cartilage. Needs vet attendance as a matter of urgency. we have shot a few that have been ignored.
That looks like a wound to me? Foot get stuck in something? Does that shoe have heel caulks or wedged?
