working a coke fire

    This topic came up at lunch the other day with my app
    he could not believe how many lads in his group

    at college havent got a clue about manageing a fire
    and making a pair of shoes in a propper manner

    I still havent figgered out why any one would want to use gas.

    The way things are going over here pritty soon it will be agenst the law to burn coke

    I'm not a fan of coke, my govnors forge was like something out of Dickens.... I'm sure the COPD I have is a result...... :) gas is dear though...... If you get a slow moving app then the shop gas fire can run at a pound a pair in gas......

    But if you have to do the stages of your xam in a coke fire
    they should be thought you think?

    Guess gas woud be better for ones health but every time i fire one up i cant help but feel like im playing in my sisters easy bake oven:)

    gas is cleaner, cheaper and far more convienient for everyday work

    John I think the colleges are set up for gas, as well as coke, but defiantly they should manage to do both.

    I tried working a coke fire once.

    Won't do it again!

    Didn't put out much heat and I kept burning my nose. Not to mention it was very expensive.

    There seems to be a few wood charcoal plants in the aria that im moveing to in MO . But im not finding mutch coke .might have to get use to gas or charcoal for a wile.

    In the college in kildare they only use the coke fires
