So it's Karen's forum and Ray is just footing the bill. I wonder if Ray's wife knows about this arrangement. :cautious:

I guess I'd say that it's the farriers forum and ray and Andre are footing the bill, Karen and Tom , her and his time. This moderating is all a learning experience, for Karen and for me and anyone else who steps up.

I think I already sourced some "catshead " hammers" european style that I never knew existed until David and Chris discussed and showed them on a thread that was locked and reopened . I'm still trying to figure out why they use the term "catshead" for them, but I learned. and Eric ,as said before, I really don't want to run a forum but I believe we are getting there.

Well carry on,and send money! address provided if needed. thanks

    Regards

My wife approves of me letting Karen do all the work of moderating the forum. It leaves more time for me to do house work.

I can't say that any of this has been a learning experience for me. So far it's going exactly as I predicted.

Ray, your check went in the mail on the 5th.

I'll let you know, but they don't look anything like the "catsheads" as we call them.

So are you just sending out postcards with pictures of asparagus now?

I haven't heard from Andre regarding the article/library section.

    Tom,

pm Andre or here and discuss it thanks

while the pictures of asparagus travel better ,they cook really bad, always trying to find middle ground, kinda like maderating!(00ps)

and while I so wanted to comment on mr. perrys post the "squashed heel" thread in the other section,I did not because it might considered be off topic,

    I will here.

If ever there was a place to use that famous quote"it depends" ,I think Depends may have been needed there, could be a new slogan.... it's depends to the rescue!

Karen. Here is a training film on behaviour for you to learn from .Its what not to do as Moderator .But it is quite acceptable for members to participate in .

In previous posts there was talk of time and effort spent to be a moderator. What could be hard about that? I would just read and enjoy, never delete anything, and occasionally goad someone into posting something even worse.

I think way back in this thread Jack hit on something: Instead of a locked mod area like a complaint desk there is a "report" button.

How about I just stick to the report button, and leave everything else there? This way all you members can report what you don't like.

So you won't hear from me unless you press that report button.
This is a learning experience for probably all. Maybe it's a good thing this all happened. At least members are deciding what they want a moderator for. Or if they want one.

    Thoughts?

I forgot the read and enjoy part. Thanks for reminding me. I'll do that and just stick to the REPORT button.

Bill, there is constructive criticism from people who want to improve the situation, then there is bullying. This is a good thread for finding out exactly what members want in a moderator-hopefully constructive.

For a moderator you sure do play the "helpless victim" card a lot.

Bill, in all the posts to me you've written on this board, why is Not One offering guidance , or educating me to help improve things? I have read just about every post written for 5 years on that other website. I've enjoyed the posts with farriers letting off steam because there's great learning in it. Seems like some of the most intelligent replies are made by the biggest pot stirrers.

There's not been one word from you offering something useful. Your posts have all been the same thing over and over again: "go away". Not anywhere constructive .

No, just the "asking members for constructive comments" card.
    You-are just a bully-nothing more.

How about when a member reports something they don't like, an automatic window pops up and tells them not to be such a baby?
