Or is the SFT involved as well?

I advised the owner to get it to the vet. It will bare weight for a few seconds as it painfully limps along. :(

I think the question is "where was the owner before the horse got to this state (n)"

According to her, this horse was a Race candidate that was sold to someone else who then decided to just get rid of it and now she has it.

Yeah, this woman supposedly just rescued the horse. I told her the same thing.

I just gave the back story I was told.

Looking at it I would say ddft contracture, but someone more knowledgeable than me may know otherwise. Poor horse i wonder would ddft tenotomy release it?

putting it down or giving it to research (vet hosp) for vet students to practice on would be the best thing.

This one was kept in an ultimate with toe extension for 30 days and then fitted with a rocker rail. Went from G3 to sound over a 60 day period and is now going into training.

How did you apply the toe extension to the ultimate Donnie? Have ya any more photos or info on the case? Age, x-ray etc. What shoes will he train in?
Do you think he will survive the extra pressure training will put on the tendon and hoof? Im doing a number of similar cases so any help tips info greatly appreciated.

The toe extension is a reversed "slider" screwed into the bottom of the ultimate. 2 y/o filly that will be used as a working ranch horse. BROWN ALLISON DASH 5-6-Aug-2012.jpg
