I have been dropping the shoes quite a bit. btw, I have made a bunch more shoes, won't bore you guys with the photos, just letting you know Im still banging away.
1. 2. 3. 4. 5. In order from top down. On the later shoes 3-4 about 70% of the nail holes work. On the first ones 1-2 none of the worked. I made 3-4-5 much faster than 1-2. In fact I made 3-4 at the same time. ps 1-2 are blurry if you want clear pics of them check midway through this thread
I am off to get several things that will help. Wing Dividers, metal ruler, and some type of metal marker. Also I don't have a chop saw or a sheer, so I have been using the Anvil Devil to cut my stock, making the ends very difficult to clean up. Be back at you later, I plan on making at least this many today again.
If your making them to fit the foot in the pic. Your way off otherwise carry on .heat the jaws of your tongs to red ,clamp them on the stock your useing and give them a few licks with a hammer wala adjustible tongs.might keep you from acidently branding the cat.
I will attempt to do the adjustable tongs thing. The cat bugs out as soon as the forge pops on. haha Also something clicked with the last four horseshoes. Since I have been doing cold I have cheated with the turning CamS so much that I forgot how to use the horn to turn shoes. But today, bam it came back to me.. whew. PS. I would not allow myself to use the turning Cams to turn the hot shoes
Today's results. Turning the branches on the horn came back to me and 95% of the nail holes are functional now. Although I had to re-punch and back punch many of them. I cut the ends with hacksaw didn't help with the unfinished end crap. Ps. I couldn't find any wing dividers. I also forgot a punch but made due with the anvil devil for the center mark. But marking my first nail holes after shaping the toe was impossible because of heat. I made due with my actual fore-punch. Some guys actually do this don't they?

As someone who plays around with film, I am going to give you one of these! thank you for the GREAT video, if I didn't have fifteen horses today(all trims) I would go try it right now. Maybe this evening I will try it out, I already see what I was doing wrong. Thanks Smitty88
