An owner sends me this rad.The horse is lame two months ago. The pus drains in the bulbs. What do you think? My money is in "sequestrum" or esferic keratoma
Would it more likely be sequestrum than keratoma? I reckon the 'piece' looks dense enough to be bone. I thought that a keratoma didn't really show on a pic - the missing bone does (ie. doesn't). Happy to be corrected and looking forward to updates.
Gabino will you please post a pic of the foot in question ..the area its draining at heel bulbs is the area I wanna see..and has anyone delt with a issue like gabinos whyere it drains at heel bulb but on hind foot and horse still sound...it will dry up the open ..dry up then open agian over and over ...I have one on the books like such as described
Sad news. The surgery is delayed. The horse is founder in the other front this morning and the vet will treat the founder firstly. What a pity !! I was sharpenned my knifes now!!
I don't know the horse, and I don't know if I will shoe him. I receive this pic and this rad from an vet for make a budget. If I treat the horse,I'll take pics,of course.
cool looking forward to see what you do. I had a similar case, but not as bad. what I see is it looks white liquid is coming out; canker??? you tell me.........I'll check in later.
Bro Jaye, in your opinion would a heartbar shoe with the heels floated be your choice? Or what? Thank you!
I think he may have meant sequestrum (piece of dead bone), and may have just hit a home run. Edit to add: Maybe just a two run double - Gabino suggested sequestrum in his original post. Regards
Removal of sequestrate first. full support on opposing foot. regional profusion to the effected foot , putty in all areas except removal sight, glue on, plate, dry pack. Tincture of time.
With most situations in Spain or Atlanta w/owners/trainers there is NO TIME! Just the next show, event or race...........
