    For me that would normally be 7/8 3/8, smitty. Or 20 by 10 if metric section. However I carry 3/4 3/8 and 19 by 10.
    6 inches is a 'crossover ' size - depends on the build of the horse.

    14" foot , i have some on 3/4, most on 7/8 and a few in 1 inch section

    In that size gary I do some hunters I have in 7/8x 7/16 and 7/8x 1/2 also 1x 3/8on the other hand same size foot I have horses in 1x 5/16

    John, I use 7/8 wide on those or I'll use 3/8 x 1" to make some for a heavy horse with that size of foot.

    I dont use it much chris only for c/w
    its not used much over here also 3/4x7/16 is not that popular

    Just re visited this. .. no way I'd ever put 3/4 3/8 on a six inch foot, I usually use inch by 3/8.

    (Note to self. .. never post anything remotely technical after spending Sunday afternoon in the pub)

    I have shod the odd n/h horse and polo pony that got 3/4x 3/8 gary
    that were size 6"
