I cleaned the crack out the best I could
try to balance up a bit and made an ali h/bar

Your fighting the weaght of the horse on thet one smitty. Trim the larger section of hoof flat and taper the smaller from about 1/4" shorter then tha other side of the crack back to the same hight as the meadil side of the hoof at the heal. Nail the medil sid normaly the other side as far back as you dare .cover the crack with glue if it lives in a aira where debre can get in the crack . The weight of the horse will close the crack insted of opening it .works every time for me on cracks near the toe

John, the H bar will get weight off the toe and floating the area on each side of the crack would help. I would have had the nails and shoe a bit further back.
I'll bet anyone who can make a shoe that nice probably picked up a few skills as to fitting and repairing a hoof like that too. Beauty.

It all comes back to the foot you preper for the bar shoe
Then you need it fitting well, if its a well made shoe for that foot
is what counts, everything else is a bonus imo

Ime floating bolth sides of the crack will cause outward presher on the crack when the foot is loaded and hinder healing
