LOL! Only for taking pictures. Phone camera doesn't focus close enough to hold the foot in one hand and take picture with the other. This horse is pretty easy to get under - only used a quart of bug spray to get him done. Damn green heads!
6.25" across in the front. I have him in SSP 4 behind. Needs his hocks done again - wearing lateral branch on RH . . . Mr. Perry's hypothesis tested and proved.
NO clips on front or hind. I don't know why it appears that there are clips on the hinds, must be the darn phone camera or something. Regardless, I swear on Butler's Principles of Horseshoeing III that there are no clips on any of the shoes....
There is a dark spot on the toe of the hind shoe could be mistaken as the source hole for a toe clip.
Heres a foundered guy I worked on today. He walked off alot better than he came in. I'm getting better at clinching with the clinchers but I still drug these a bit.(Damnt) I should stick to hammer clinching. Either way, the horse didn't seem to mind but I sure did. Anyway, questions,comments,concerns. I'm trying to get better so ill take any feedback I can get. Thanks!
Jacob I think you would be teachable as hell..ur eager ..you dont mind putting ur work out there..you seem like you wanna learn..so a few days with someone would give you alot of food for thought..and can really clean up some of ur finish work..keep at Iit you will get there..you found this place just looking to learn more..
Thanks Travis. About 85 percent of what little I do know I have learned from reading and looking at pictures/watching videos.
Jacob it is hard to learn it from a book..the fundamentals that is..but dont stop reading ..dont stop trying.. we cant all be born into horseshoing and its a bit tougher for some and it may take longer but its doable..you can direct ur own luck..

Ron that fit on the left is abit too much IMO. The feet look like they have some separation going on and the toe needs to be brought back a lot..Good on you tho...keep posting..
Ron, go ahead and join the WCB [worldchampionblacksmiths]; and the AFA and get into their education; and find a good horseshoeing school. There are a few, a couple are Dr Doug Butlers, Heartland, Kentucky Horseshoeing school, ect.. others can mention more for your choice of info.
