Based on the photo(s) and my personal experience, I think you will end up having to do some intervention and probably sooner rather than later.

Its a game linda!! knowing when to correct and when to leave, this is quite a common bred horse so will be quite robust. If the limbs slowly pull up as the forearm develops then it will be fine, it looks a bit narrow at the top in the chest so the legs tend to bend out, we have a bit of time before we need to panic yet. Its a week old.

then I would throw my tools on the ground and tell the so called owner....then do it your self if you think you can do it better; and if you think for one moment that horses can't go lame; then you haven't been around horses that long; you are damn fool!!
I have almost done it!! with lots of cursing worse than any man or sailor!!!

Instead of abusing your tools by throwing them down, why not just load up and leave...it does make them stand there in Awe for a few minutes...:)

Really Tony! A man/woman who has 125 on the books/roster will drive an average 60,000 nails a years. I know I get 3 a year. Numerically insignificant.

I agree, we did that sum, I however didnt tell the customer that.
unfortunately some clients rely on there animals to much emotionally and that can escalate the problem, also it is disappointing if they cant do the particular pastime with there horse because we have broken it!
I had another phone call yesterday from the lady after a vet had visited and said it would be a further 10 days before it will be sound.
The apprentice is gutted! they take there responsibilities very seriously, its what makes them good at what they do.

Nobody feels worse about a shoe laming a horse than the guy who shod it. Customers don't always understand that though.

David what did ya do with the foal pictured at the top of the page? I usually find these guys correct themselves in the first 6 - 8 weeks how did he turn out or did you intervene?

David it corrected no probs, I do believe it may have a slightly off set knee. The apprentice did actually loose sleep over it.
