As the other thread is for pics only bill
you asked for some feed back.

I think there is some things in your shoe I like
    shape, clip.
your inside needs to be sweeter and fullering for nail fit
    good stuff

I think what we need in these contests are young, inexperienced guys starting out, who have inadequate tools and no talent, so that I'll have a chance.
Thanks John, I thought that too but that branch started getting too long. should have gotten my shape finished before I creased it. Also, I put a center punch in the toe and marked my creases off that point before I had the trailer finished and that threw me off too. I didn't give enough time to put a finish on it either, just a bit of clean up around the trailer. Could have been better. Good exercise. Made my shoulder feel better.

Another thing. I think my shoe looks better holding it and examining it myself rather than in the photos. Logic dictates though. that all of the other shoes would look better then too, so I'm still behind.

First let me say, the big winner of this month's contest is the horses we work on. Seeing the work displayed is great, and it made my decision very tough.
1st Place: Michael Allen. The only reason he got first place is because of his finish of the trailer, it matched mine pretty darn good.
2nd Place: Smitty. Once again you came with a very fine made shoe of quality.
3rd Place: David. Nice clean shoe with a very nice finish.
4th Place: TIE between Chris and Alex. Even down to the writing I didn't know how to place your shoes.
5th Place: Bill. I didn't deduct points because you use a different nail, what I was looking for was nail depth and fit. You're trailer looked exactly like mine in style.

I want to thank you all for showing your work. I am humbled by the quality and could clearly see where mine would have placed if I was a contestant. I'm looking forward to the next one so I can NOT judge! Thanks again all, and a Great Easter to you all!!

Thanks for the work Mikel. I feel quite triumphant tonight. I was afraid I'd come in sixth.

Now the judging is over, I can comment. I really loved your trailer. Actually two things, the finish and the little dip in the medial branch heal. If not for that you would have been bumped up another.
I've never been one on finish, but I also realize in a contest it plays a big part. By judging this, I have seen many of my fails and hope to up my finish as well.

If everyone that entered were under the same roof and entered into this class, given a chance to handle the specimen shoe. I think every shoe you judged would have had the trailer finished the way to had yours. I think I just got lucky to be the only one to see it when I enlarged the photo.

And that's what makes it tough and fun on these photo competitions. It was tough in the judging part I thought. I'm glad everyone had fun.

Right click on the photo (or long press if you're on phone or tablet) and select "save image " this will save it to your device and then when you open it on your device you will be able to zoom in and out on the image.
