In answer to your question, we keep our horses at home but before we moved them here, we did keep them at a yard that I worked at. I had a good relationship with the yard owner and we kept everything on an 'official' basis ie. we each paid each other the going rate for our services and there was no 'quid pro quo'.
I did pick up work from other clients on the yard though and I still work at the yard, even though I have moved my horses away.
