I got these and 1 3/4 " , really nice nails. As I was told, The Group picked up a Capewell machine as scrap, reversed engineered it and made 5 new machine that Mustad eventually bought. These nails I was told were made for the NZ market.
George, we'll start a new thread if you like ,but try to keep your thread here to plating.

    Regards

For plating, I use kerkhaert extra sounds. nice wide section and use ASV 1 3/4". For training plates I use malaysian trainers toe clipped fronts side clipped hinds.

I shoe one yard of 6 hurdlers, there aren't many racing yards around me and I wouldn't want to increase the amount of racehorses I shoe as its dead money in most cases.

Im talking about the turning hammer onto the front of the foot while the leg was loaded. It might be common practice but I have never seen it before.

hey, they were really bending the 1/4 Bends up at fingerlakes, causing a lot of stifle/hocks. had one come from there; couldn't get under; so sore. I don't like them too much unless need, can jam up a horse in the ice and snow.
