Sounds ideal for that horse, any feedback yet on how he's going in the shoe? If he was sound but had that same lat toe quarter landing and lat heel folding would you have fitted that shoe?

"collateral" troubles are seen 6 months later in the calcification of the ligament(s) effected. Hard to see in some cases on a rad. MRI are the best for DX. Straight bar shoe with medial width; 3/4" to 1 1/4", it's hard to make without making a "side weighted" shoe. Lots of hammerin'......no I am not going to make one!

    whether
"toed in" or "toed out"; winging or plaiting way of going, wedging is the way to go. Medial wedging on a "Plaiting" horse has to be removed every 3rd shoeing. Causes a medial corn....:D

A couple from this Monday. The egg bar was 14 inches of 3/8 x 7/8. The straight bar on the wry foot was 14.75 inches of 3/8 x 7/8. Should have cleaned them up a bit more. photo copy 7.JPG photo.JPG photo copy 4.JPG

Good stuff, John. Why so wide at the heels with the straight bar?

The heel width measured 3.75 inches which is where the bar came out. I tried to make the shoe so there would be about 1/8" width on each side at the heels because this foot grows more forward than up...but in order to get that on the foot, the shoe had to come back. This photo might show it a little better (you might be able to see the 'shiny black' part of the top of the pad in this one)...or not :) ...in other words, I made the shoe to the exact (or as close as I could) dimensions of the foot (14" perimeter, 3.75" between heels) but I knew that the toe had to come back to center of the shoe around the center of the foot, so by bringing the shoe back off the toe to center of the foot, it left the heel fit at about 1/4" length and 1/4" width...broken down to roughly 1/8" of width on each side...or there about...and I pulled it back a little too much.
