Just be sure you take plenty of vitamins and minerals. I broke my left leg in Dec. 2000 and on a follow up visit my doc stated that he was surprised how fast I was healing. I told him I don't smoke or drink and take plenty of vitamins, minerals,and plenty of vitamin
C. He looked at me like I was from another planet.
On another follow up visit I asked him if it would be ok I rode my horse. He thought about it for a second and said it would be alright. I said: "Oh good; I've been riding him for the last month."

1 from today has a fractured P3

I posted these back in February. The intention was to put them on the horse as soon as the snow was gone, but it didn't happen until July. I went back to do the horse today, and he was walking quite well. He even trotted up to the gait. Before it was hard to even get him to walk. I took a few pictures, most of which didn't come out very well for some reason. It was a dark barn, but I used the flash, and most of them came out blurry. Here's what I got:

Rick how did the shoes work out?

So far so good. The horse is much better. I decided to put the second pair on, both pairs for just the normal keg shoe price. Money is an issue for the owner. They wanted to go back to trim only, but given how well the horse was going, I made a deal with them. He would barely walk before the shoes.

This is a shoe I made for a LH on a Danish Warmblood with a suspensory ligament problem on Thursday. It is the second one I've made. When I started we had to drug the horse to work as it was very sore. The reset I got on that shoe, the horse stood with no problem. The attending vet said he wanted the same again, so I pounded on out Thursday. Horse seem to be recovering well, so the owner tells me.

Nice looking shoe Mikel. What influence are the mechanics of that shoe having on the ligament? What was the injury? Thanks.

Here now the ground is soft and muddy. It allows the toe to stay higher putting more stress on the tendons and relaxing the SL. As I stated above, the vet said it was suspensory problem. This was the shoe he wanted and so far horse is doing well.

Had a little extra tine today, so Peppy got some hand made fronts.
