te="Joey Aczon, post: 31800, member: 6168"]Looks better than some of the shoes I make now, and I make shoes at the horse all the time. LOL[/quote]
Thanks. I get lucky every now and then. I'm too scared to make any at the horse.

Why are you scared to make them on the road?

just for wear. She's hand walking the horse on asphalt only for 15 minutes everyday. Lateral branch was 3/8 by three quarter. Medial branch was a little over an inch.

I have very little experience making shoes and would take all day making them at the horse.

That's how you learn. If I could get a buck an hour for the time spent, and I'm still not much to write home about. Making shoes at the horse puts things in a better perspective. Makes it more real.
Set up a horse or two a week to do a pair from bar stock. Only way to get better and faster.
One of my favorite days (the first time this happened) is when I met a Vet for a lame horse, and he asked if I had a certain shoe, and I could say "Oh yeah, I have plenty of bar stock for that". I even did it kinda fast, or maybe just not really slow.

So the vet thinks the wide medial branch will help the horse walking on asphalt?

Looks like a good shoe for the hind feet of a head horse. I've been thinking about making a shoe similar to that for some of my horses.

Pony roadster. I came way long. Cut 9 1/2 In of 3/4 x 3/8. I'm a little embarrassed to say this is the first roadster I have ever made and fit to a hoof. 20150301_192413.jpg 20150301_193130.jpg 20150301_193148.jpg 20150301_193137.jpg
